I'm sure when MaryAnne and I first met at Custer we had no idea that we would have such an impact on each others lives. We became best-friends-for-life and for that, I have been truly blessed.

We lost MaryAnne to breast cancer 12 years ago this December. I will miss her everyday and always, but, everyday and always she is in my heart.

MaryAnne was most proud of her three children and it is through them that her legacy lives on: Her son, Mike, is serving his medical internship in Madison —he is married to Danielle, they have a 4 year old daughter, Ava, and are expecting their second child this month (October). Her daughter, Jamie was born the same day as my son, Justin. Jamie and her husband, Andrew live in Washington DC and they just welcomed their first child in to the world, a daughter, Kendall Lynn! Jamie earned her Masters at John Hopkins last year. And Megan, MaryAnne's youngest (and my Goddaughter - who was just 10 when she lost her mom), shares her mother's spirit and strong will(!). Megan lives in Ohio and is also expecting her first child (later this month).

God bless them.

I knew Mary Ann ever since the St. Albert's days (where we both went to grade school). We both raised our families in West Bend, but it wasn't until our daughters (Jamie and Tiffanie)became friends that we met up again. She was a terrific person and her passing was hard on a lot of people. She was taken too soon and it still doesn't seem possible. We'll have one for ya Saturday night Mary Anne!
